What makes a good pitch

Send a short proposal centred on one clear idea: the question you want to explore, why it may interest readers, and the shape you imagine for the piece. Strong pitches use a specific example or occasion without treating one person’s experience as a rule for everyone. Practical suggestions should be low-pressure and suitable for readers to adapt.

What we are looking for

We welcome explanatory pieces, thoughtful comparisons, cultural background and occasion-based ideas that fit the publication’s focus. We are not looking for generic relationship advice, promotional copy, unsupported claims or stories that disclose another person’s private information without proper care.

How to send a proposal

Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short summary and a little context about your approach. Please do not send a full draft unless we have agreed on one; a proposal is enough to start a conversation.
